Beneath the Baltic waves, Jurate, the Queen of the Sea, ruled wisely and undisturbed over all marine creatures. One day, courageous handmaids hastened to her Amber Castle, bearing tidings of Kastytis, a youthful and captivating fisherman who dared to cast his nets at the boundary of her underwater realm. Jurate promtly dispatched her most trusted sirens to admonish the audacious mortal. Yet, to her dismay, the young fisherman remained unfazed by their warnings. Determined to address his brazen disobedience personally, Jurate embarked on a confrontation with him. Their encounter, however, took an unforeseen turn as both became ensnared by an irresistible love. Unaware of their impending fate, the two lovers reached the abyss, whishing to happily live together in the amber dwelling. Yet, their love was brief. The Thunder-God Perkunas, Jurate's own father, erupted in fury, unleashing lightning bolts that rent the Amber Castle asunder, reducing it to ruins.
